The couple that create together stay together - and Meg and Clint are living proof. Meet the Sollys.
Meg was raised on a farm, sang and danced for a living, and loved gymnastics; Clint was a cabinet maker, an acrobat, and a gymnast. Classic girl-meets-boy story. But what glues together this husband-and-wife team are their shared passion for the maker culture and love for building beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces.
And because makers are natural teachers, the Sollys invite you to their fantastic Yeronga workshop to learn the basics of woodworking. Over two days, you’ll get to work with hand and power tools and learn both traditional and modern techniques of crafting.
If you’re a beginner, you’ll come away from this weekend class with a simple timber project that you built with your own hands. For more experienced hands, you know there’s always something new to learn!
Got myself a new tool!! This is called a ball gouge from @arbortechie. It’s kind of scary but really fun and I can’t wait to see what I can create with it. I went and bought a new grinder from @dewalt_australia which has a cut-off switch, which means the ball stops rotating almost as soon as I take my finger off the trigger. I also decided the face shield was a good idea since it was my first time using the tool. #arbotech #dewalt #woodcarving
