Learn what makes your heart beat.
Cooking? It’s one of the easiest things you can learn. It’s also one of the most important skills you could have. If you’re one to joke around that you’re terrible in the kitchen while chowing down your favourite takeout, chances are you’ve just never taken to learn or be taught.
The most common roadblocks
As with anything, learning how to cook begins with establishing a cooking habit - and we all know how daunting starting a habit on entirely new territory can be. We make up so many excuses not to start learning, including but not limited to: “I don’t have the time”, “I don’t like to wash dishes”, or “Nobody ever taught me how to cook”, “I don’t know the right techniques”. What these are are simply excuses, and if you’re not willing to overcome them, then you’re doomed to resorting to frozen pizzas and takeout fer life.
Which is why we propose to you to just simply try it out. Just go for it. Try cooking one dish. Try a class. Sure you might make a mess in the kitchen, but you’ll take that as a lesson for next time. Then remember what you’ve learned, and try again. If you need someone to teach you the right way, there’s always going to be somebody. And there’s always trusty ol’ Google. Pretty soon, if you keep trying, you’ll be living happily and deliciously ever after.
