Wheel + Wine is Just Divine

If you’ve ever taken a history class, you’ll know that ceramics is an art form dating all the way back to sometime between 29,000 and 25,000 BC.

But despite being the most ancient of art forms, the clay practice has been making a comeback in the contemporary art world, and it has never been more popular as it is now. Our desire to return to the handmade has been driven by our increasingly digital lives, and as a result, there are now more makers and collectors than ever before.

Many ceramic artists today are ensuring that the art form receives its due respect and recognition by sharing their passion through classes and one-off workshops. Sarah Schembri Ceramics’ classes has been one of the most popular in Melbourne in the last few years. Owner Sarah is dedicated to sharing her gift for creating usable art, and to ease beginners into it in a fun way, she is a holding a “Wheel & Wine Night”, where one can enjoy a grazing plate and a glass of wine over a 2-3 hour experience of wheel throwing.

Wheel & Wine Night runs on Thursday, June 28, from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. Find tickets prices and more class details in the link below.

Enjoy a night on the wheel over wine!
